Small Mosque of Nawab Wazir Khan
This substantial building with glazed pottery
work on the arches and font wall, is situated close to the Taxali Gate,
immediately adjoining the city walls, on the east. Close to it were
the proud palaces of Nawab Wazir khan, the governor of Lahore during the
reign of Shah jahan, but they have all been leveled with the ground.
Traces of some of the foundations still exist. The masjid was the
chapel of the wazir’s zenana, the passage being from the Harem.
Being situated in the Musalman quarter it is extensively used as a place
of worship.
