Dai Lado
Dai
Lado was the wet nurse of the emperor Jahangir. According to the Shah
jahan nama she was a pious lady, and was initiated in the Chisti order
of sainhood. Her husband was a Mughal Amir Muhammad Ismail. Dai Lado was
very rich and owned extensive property. The Mohalla around Rattan Chand
Serai and Mayo Hospital was in those days known as Mohalla Dai Lado and
was the most extensive abadi outside the walled city. She erected a mosque
which still exists and is known as Masjid Dai Lado. She established a
school in the mosque which was presided by Maulvi Asmainullah a learned
scholar. Dai Lado died in 1660. She and her husband lie buried in the
compound of the mosque constructed by her
